Feature Matrix · What's In, What's Out

One table to see how Meta / TikTok / Google compare on creation, analysis, auto-optimization and manual ops — skip the "why can't I…" trial-and-error.

Why this article exists

GrowthGPT's capabilities differ from platform to platform — some features need prerequisites, some are platform-exclusive, and some aren't supported yet. This article lays out every boundary in one place so you don't get stuck wondering "why can't I click this / why didn't AI touch my ad."

✅ Feature matrix (ad platform × capability)

CapabilityMetaTikTokGoogle
Ad creation✅ All 6 objectives✅ GMV Max + Auction (Traffic / Video Views) + Smart+✅ PMax · Search · App
Data analysis✅ All levels✅ All levels + product-level✅ All levels + PMax assets + search terms
Creative analysis✅ Keep / Kill / Scale✅ Winner / Weak / Fatigue✅ Asset performance analysis
Auto-optimization✅ Ad-level pause + budget bump✅ GMV Max only (budget / pause / ROAS / new product)⚠️ AI auto-opt not yet; Custom Rules supported
Manual operations✅ Status / budget / bid / schedule / name✅ GMV Max edits + status + video upload✅ Status / budget / bid / keywords / PMax text assets
Creative refresh / addition✅ Swap creatives in existing campaigns
Scheduled pause / activate

The core principle: "analysis + manual operations" cover every ad in your account, regardless of where it was created; "auto-optimization (Autopilot)" has platform prerequisites. Google Ads supports creation, analysis and manual operations; AI auto-optimization isn't available yet, but Custom Rules (the rule engine) already supports automated rule execution on Google.

⚠ What to do before you use Autopilot

Meta · tell AI two numbers first

Want AI to auto-manage one of your Meta ads? Tell it two things first:

  • What do you want to keep your cost per acquisition under? (e.g. $25 — this is the "target CPA")
  • How much are you willing to spend per day at most? (e.g. $200 — this is the "max daily budget")

With these two numbers, AI can make the call — cost under $25 and budget not yet spent? Push a little more budget in. Cost spiking to $40? It suggests you consider pausing. Without these two numbers, AI is flying blind, so by default it won't touch your ads.

One more detail: Autopilot only acts at the Ad level — adding budget, pausing, all of it. If you want to change the Campaign or Ad Set level, you'll need to do it manually.

TikTok · no config, works out of the box (GMV Max only)

TikTok is a lot simpler — your campaigns already have a ROAS target and budget set, and AI just reads them. The one thing to note: only GMV Max campaigns can use auto-optimization; Auction and Smart+ campaigns aren't in the auto-optimization loop yet (but data analysis and manual operations still work).

For Google Ads, creation (PMax · Search · App), full-dimension data analysis and manual operations (status / budget / bid strategy / keyword management / PMax text-asset add-remove) are all supported. AI Inspection auto-optimization (where GrowthGPT proactively diagnoses and recommends) doesn't cover Google yet — but Custom Rules already supports automated rule execution on Google (pause / resume / budget / bid / notify). In short: AI can't proactively patrol Google for now, but you can set automated rules for Google via the rule engine.

What you can do without connecting an account

Even without a connected ad account, you can still use these features (based on public information and general methodology):

Note: strategy recommendations don't connect to your internal BI system or private databases — all analysis is based on public data.

Data security and privacy

  • Transport encryption: TLS 1.2+
  • Storage encryption: AES-256
  • Account authorization: ad platforms use standard OAuth 2.0, revocable anytime
  • Data isolation: user data is logically isolated and never sold to third parties
  • Compliance: GDPR-compliant
  • Revoke access: do it in the ad platform settings or through GrowthGPT — both work anytime

Common "why can't I…" answers

Q1: Why do some of my Meta campaigns show "auto-optimization not configured"?

They're missing a target CPA or budget cap. Set these two parameters in GrowthGPT and they'll be included automatically in the next check.

Q2: Why didn't Autopilot touch the ad I created manually in Meta's back end?

Same as above — that campaign needs a target CPA + budget cap configured in GrowthGPT. Note: Autopilot also only acts at the Ad level; Campaign / Ad Set level changes need the manual Toolkit.

Q3: Can I analyze today's real-time data?

Today's data may not be settled yet (true for both Meta and TikTok) — base things on yesterday and earlier. For optimization decisions, the system automatically excludes today's data.

Q4: Can it do cross-platform budget allocation?

Autopilot doesn't auto-allocate across platforms. But you can have GrowthGPT do a strategy-level comprehensive analysis on its own (e.g. "Compare the overall performance of Meta and TikTok and give me a budget allocation recommendation") — that's a one-off strategy analysis.

Q5: Can I use a published post on a Facebook Page as ad creative?

Not yet supported. Meta ad creation only accepts new uploads; it can't reference an existing post.

Q6: Can I create a Meta campaign optimized for ROAS?

ROAS / Value as the optimization_goal isn't supported. Available goals include 6 common ones — Website conversion, App install, WhatsApp, and so on.

Boundaries = the current state, not a permanent promise. Many features (Google Ads AI-inspection auto-optimization, video generation, scheduled auto-checks, Catalog / ASC, and more) are on the roadmap. Google Ads creation and analysis are already live, and automated rule execution works via Custom Rules — only AI-driven inspection is still a step away.
